Grow the arts AND restore a historic building
About the Project
We are working with Indiana Landmarks to restore and renovate two historic row houses in downtown Lawrenceburg. Built in 1870 and 1900, these buildings will become the new Southeastern Indiana Center for the Arts, contributing to the preservation of our past while moving us into the future.
A thorough feasibility study was completed in October 2022 resulting in tentative floor plans and estimated costs. Bottom line: We need to raise $500,000 by the end of 2023 to ensure SEI Center for the Arts has a permanent home and these historical buildings are renovated.
Planned Space for Each Floor
All floors will be handicap accessible.
- 1st Floor - Gallery, retail shop, kitchenette, two bathrooms, drawing/painting studio, and a fully equipped ceramic studio.
- 2nd Floor - Open collaborative work spaces, kitchen, bathroom, three studios for lease, conference room and two offices.
- 3rd Floor - Four vacation rental units for sustainability; Two studio and two one bedrooms.

100 Heroes
We are calling on 100 people to commit to annual donations of $1000. The donations can occur once per year at $1000 or quarterly at $250 or monthly at $84. Each "Hero" will have a name and beginning year on a plaque in our gallery in addition to being listed on this webpage. We will honor you!
